Our Beliefs

We think clarity about
what we believe
matters.

BecomingFaith is built on specific convictions — about God, about formation, about technology, and about what it means to grow. We'd rather tell you what we believe than leave you to wonder.

About Faith

We are broadly Christian,
not narrowly sectarian.

BecomingFaith is built on the historic Christian faith — the belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, that Scripture is the living Word of God, and that the Holy Spirit works in and through people who seek to follow Christ.

We are not affiliated with any single denomination, theological tradition, or political movement. We welcome Catholic, Protestant, Orthodox, and non-denominational Christians. We welcome people who are earnestly seeking.

Where Christians of goodwill disagree — on secondary doctrinal questions, polity, worship style — BecomingFaith doesn't take a side. Where the historic faith speaks clearly, we try to speak clearly too.

About Formation

Transformation happens
daily, not instantly.

We believe the gap between the person we are and the person God calls us to be is closed through faithful, repeated, small acts — not through peak experiences, correct theology alone, or occasional discipline.

Formation is the ancient Christian word for this process. The church has always understood that becoming Christlike is a journey — not a destination reached at conversion and maintained without intention.

BecomingFaith is a tool for that journey. It doesn't replace the church, Scripture, prayer, or the work of the Spirit. It creates a daily structure that makes those things more consistent in your actual life.

About Scripture

The Bible is not content.
It is living encounter.

We believe the Scriptures are the inspired Word of God — authoritative, true, and alive. BecomingFaith's journeys are anchored in Scripture not because it's expected, but because we believe it's where God meets us.

The ROOTS method structures engagement with Scripture so that it moves from information to formation — from reading to reflection to response. We want people to encounter the living Word, not accumulate biblical facts.

About Community

You cannot become
alone.

The Christian tradition has always understood that formation happens in community. The early church didn't form solo practitioners — it formed communities of practice. The Wesleyan class meeting, monastic life, the small group movement: every great formation tradition has been communal.

Circles are BecomingFaith's expression of that conviction. Not a social feature — a formation mechanism. The presence of others who are on the same journey, who can see whether you showed up, who hold you accountable without judgment, is not optional for serious formation.

BecomingFaith is not a substitute for the local church. It is a daily formation tool that works best when it's connected to one.

About Technology

Technology is a tool.
Not a spiritual director.

We believe that technology can serve formation — that a streak mechanism, a daily reminder, a Circle of accountability, and an AI that helps you reflect are all legitimately useful tools for spiritual growth when used with discernment.

We do not believe that technology can replace the work of the Holy Spirit, the community of the church, the sacraments, or the personal relationship with God that is the goal of all formation. BecomingFaith is a scaffold, not a substitute.

The AI Guide is a reflection tool — not a pastor, not a spiritual director, not an oracle. It can help you notice patterns in your growth, surface themes in your reflection, and prompt deeper prayer. It cannot give you grace, absolve sin, or do the inner work that only God can do.

We are committed to being honest about what technology can and cannot do for the soul.

About Data and Privacy

Your inner life
belongs to you.

Your reflections, prayers, and formation data are personal. We take the responsibility of holding that data seriously. BecomingFaith does not sell your data. We do not use your reflections to train external AI models without your explicit consent. We do not share your spiritual data with advertisers.

When you begin, we ask for explicit consent for any AI processing of your personal data. You can request deletion of all your data at any time. We comply with GDPR and applicable privacy law.

Your journal is private by default. You choose what your Circle sees. We design for trust, not extraction.

About Who We're For

For people who want
to be more consistent
in their faith.

BecomingFaith is for practicing Christians who want a more consistent daily life with God — not for people looking to explore Christianity for the first time, not for academic theology, not for people content with occasional engagement.

We serve a specific person: the one who already believes, already knows what formation should look like, and hasn't been able to make it daily. That gap — between belief and practice, between desire and habit — is the problem BecomingFaith is built to close.

If you're that person, this is for you.

A Personal Note

Built with
conviction.

I built BecomingFaith as a person of faith, not just as a product builder. The beliefs on this page are my beliefs — not marketing copy, not positioning strategy. I believe formation is the most important work a Christian can do, and I believe most of us need more than good intentions to make it daily.

If anything on this page gives you pause, I'd genuinely like to hear from you. These convictions are held with humility, not rigidity. The goal is always the same: help people become who their faith is calling them to be.
