The ROOTS Formation System

Not a devotional plan. Not a reading list. A daily formation system built on five practices that work together to close the gap between the person you are and the person your faith is calling you to be.

The Problem It Solves

Why most faith habits
don't stick.

Most people who want a more consistent faith life try one of three things: read the Bible more, pray more, or attend church more. These are good. But without a system, they're fragile. One hard week and the habit breaks.

The reason isn't willpower. It's architecture. The practices that form us need to reinforce each other — scripture needs reflection to move from head to heart, prayer needs application to become action, and all of it needs community to survive the long haul.

ROOTS is that architecture. Five practices. One daily step. Built to compound.

The Five Practices

Each one builds on the last.

These aren't five separate habits to maintain. They're one connected rhythm. Each practice deepens the one before it.

R

Read — Focused Scripture

Each daily step begins with a focused passage of Scripture — short enough to sit with, specific enough to carry. Not a reading plan designed to get through the Bible in a year. A passage designed to get through to you.

The passage connects to the journey you're in — whether that's identity, calling, anxiety, gratitude, or grief. Scripture isn't background noise. It's the anchor for everything that follows.

O

Observe — Reflection

One reflection question moves you from reader to participant. What is stirring? What are you noticing? What phrase won't let you go? Your journal captures your answer — privately, on your terms.

Over time, your reflection patterns become visible. The AI Guide notices themes you might not. This is where Scripture starts becoming personal.

O

Obey — Application

Formation is not information. Your step ends with a concrete decision — one thing to carry into your actual life today. Not a vague intention. A specific, doable action.

This is the practice that separates formation from inspiration. Inspiration lifts you for a moment. Obedience, repeated daily, changes who you are.

T

Talk — Prayer

A closing prayer — prompted, personal, and brief. Not a formula. A conversation with God about what just happened in the step. What you received. What you need. What you're bringing.

The AI Guide helps shape prompts based on what you've written in reflection — so your prayer flows from what's real, not what you think you should feel.

S

Share — Community

Your Circle sees your check-in — not your private journal, just your presence. They know you showed up today. That visibility is quietly powerful. Other people's faithfulness pulls you forward on the days yours falters.

Subscribers can share reflections with their Circle directly. Free users share presence. Both are real accountability.

Formation Journeys

ROOTS doesn't give you
a reading plan. It gives you a journey.

A journey is a curated sequence of ROOTS steps focused on a specific theme of formation. Each step builds on the last. Each journey is designed to leave you different than you started.
